      Begin your epic adventure on a path for theoretical and historical knowledge travelling all across the enchanted Italian peninsula! The journey starts in one of the most beautifully planned cities in the world: Venice. Take a tour along the Grand Canal and stop by one of the Catholic treasures of Europe at the St. Mark’s Basilica

      Make your way into the famous region of Tuscany stopping at the beautiful city of Florence. Tour the halls of the world-famous Uffizi Gallery and marvel at the bountiful collection of Renaissance pieces. Step inside the architectural masterpiece of the Baptistry of San Giovanni. See the transformation of St. John the Baptist’s life come to fruition as it’s depicted on the twenty uppermost panels of the building.

      Take a scenic bus ride to Italy’s romantic capital city of Rome! Fall in love with some of the most visited tourist sites in all of Europe, including the Spanish Steps, the Piazza Barberini, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. See the quintessential symbol of Rome’s past dominance on the global stage as you visit the encompassing Colosseum.

      Venture into the most central city for the Catholic global community, as well as the smallest country in the world: Vatican City! Learn the historical and contemporary teachings of the Catholic Church towards equality and equity practices.  

      Return to Canada with a greater sense of what it means to be a global citizen on your summer trip of a lifetime in Italy!

        Prerequisite: Any university, college, or college/university preparation course in Social Sciences and Humanities, English, or Canadian and World Studies
    • Mandatory Program Dates

      May 11, 2019: Orientation & First Class
      • Parents and students are required to attend the morning program orientation.  Only students are required to attend the afternoon introductory class.
      July 2, 2019 to July 15: Pre-Trip Online Classes
      • *Tuesday, July 2 to Friday, July 5, 2019
      • *Monday, July 8 to Friday, July 12, 2019
      • *Monday, July 15, 2019
      • Students are required to complete and submit the pre-trip assignments. Teachers will be available to answer any questions during designated hours.
      July 16 to July 26, 2019: Travel Days
      • Students are required to complete assignments as they visit sites and participate in the activities during the travel days.  Students are also required to collect information for their summative assignment throughout the trip.
      July 29 to July 30, 2019: Post-Trip Online Classes
      • Students are required to complete and submit their summative assignment online. Teachers will be available to answer any questions during designated hours.
    • Program Fees

      Program Cost: $4290.00

      Deluxe medical and cancellation insurance (mandatory) add $269.00.

      Registration Deadline – April 15th 2019

      Please note: It is EduTravel and the school board policy that all students travelling on extended trips have both cancellation and medical insurance in place. A specialized students insurance protection plan will be automatically added to the cost of the program fee upon registration. Please know there is an option to opt out of the insurance policy by completing and returning the “Insurance Opt-Out Form” along with proof of valid insurance coverage from another source.
