Learn the role Canada plays within an increasingly interconnected global community and discover what it means to be a responsible citizen locally, nationally, and internationally. Explore Old Montreal and see how it represents a diverse Canadian population. Learn about the sacrifices made by Canadians and their historical significance at the Canadian War Museum, a place full of immersive exhibits that bring history to life.

      Your Civics and Citizenship studies will be intertwined with lessons in Career Studies. Put yourself in a position for great professional and educational opportunities as you create an impactful cover letter and resume full of transferable skills and meaningful experiences. Uncover your true strengths and begin to envision your future academic and professional career when you visit New York City, an inspiring city full of bright lights and dreamers.

      While in New York City, leave the United States borders and enter international territory as you visit the United Nations Headquarters.       Integrated Civics and Careers Grade 10 (CHV2O and GLC2O)

      • Civics Grade 10 only (CHV2O)
      • Careers Grade 10 only (GLC2O)

      Prerequisite: None

      Credit granted by EduTravel Private School, Halton Catholic District School Board, or Simcoe County District School Board.  Credits are transferable to all Ontario schools and are compulsory for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

      EduTravel Private School has been granted the authority to issue credits by the Ontario Ministry of Education.  All students will receive a report card upon completion of the course.  All credits issued by EduTravel Private School are transferable to any Ontario School Board or Private School.

    • Mandatory Program Dates


      February 15, 2020: Online Access
      Students will receive an e-mail providing them with information on how to access the online learning platform and begin working on their pre-trip assignments.  The first two pre-trip assignments are due during the first pre-trip class.

      February 29, March 7 and March 14, 2020: Pre-Trip Classes
      Students are required to attend all pre-trip classes.  They will submit the first two pre-trip assignments during the first class, participate in all activities and complete all course tasks and assignments that are due before departure.

      March 15 to March 21, 2020: Travel Days
      Students are required to complete assignments as they visit sites and participate in the activities during the travel days.  Students are also required to collect information for their summative assignment throughout the trip.  The summative assignments are due during the post-trip online classes.

      April 4, 2020: Post-Trip Online Class
      Students are required to complete and submit their summative assignment online. Teachers will be available to answer any questions during designated hours. 

    • Program Fees


      Register before July 1, 2019, to secure Early Bird Pricing for the 2020 travel dates!

      Early Bird Pricing: $1700.00 (Quad occupancy; four students to a room and two students to a bed).

      Optional Private Bed Supplement: $450.00 (Student receives their own private bed in a shared room).

      Deluxe medical and cancellation insurance (mandatory): $150.00.

      Registration Deadline – February 1st, 2020 (Early Bird Pricing ends July 1st 2019)

      Please note: It is EduTravel and school board policy that all students travelling on extended trips have both cancellation and medical insurance in place. A specialized student insurance protection plan will be automatically added to the cost of the program fee upon registration. Please know there is an option to opt out of the insurance policy by completing and returning the “Insurance Opt-Out Form” along with proof of valid insurance coverage from another source. 

      Visa Students may be required to pay an additional fee. Please contact the EduTravel office for more information.
