• Canadian History in France

Open to ALL Ontario High School Students!

Spend your summer in the enchanting countries of Belgium and France. Visit the In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres, Belgium and discover the story of World War I. Fan the flames of national pride as you stand in awe of the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, a gift from France after WWI. In the evening, we will lay a wreath in remembrance during the Menin Gate Ceremony.

Travel to Dieppe to visit the Dieppe Memorial and the Juno Beach Centre, which commemorate the thousands of Canadian lives lost during WWII. Learn about the fragility of peace at the Caen Memorial, then travel to the sombre Canadian War Cemetery and feel the powerful sacrifice of fallen Canadian soldiers.

Fall in love with the cobblestone streets, the macarons and madeleine sweets, the art, and the architecture in the alluring city of Paris. Enjoy a boat cruise along the Seine, the river that flows through Paris and into the English Channel. Traipse the narrow romantic streets of the Latin Quarter as you make your way to the gothic towers of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Venture just outside the borders of Paris to visit the opulent Palace of Versailles, then visit the Eiffel Tower which provides an enchanting view as its sparkling lights magically illuminate the night sky.
