• California Dreamin’

Open to ALL Ontario High School Students!

San Francisco, Monterey, Santa Barbara, L.A., Palm Springs, Las Vegas

Discover the beautiful West Coast of the United States on the ultimate road trip this summer! Take in the stunning scenery of the Pacific Coast from the Golden Gate Bridge to the bright lights of Hollywood on the most picturesque route along Highway 1.

Land in San Francisco and study like a true university student on the legendary campus of Berkeley University. Experience some of the city’s infamous history with a cruise to Alcatraz Island, the previous home of some of America’s most notorious criminals. Try an authentic Korean spicy rice cake or purchase freshly baked sourdough bread as you stroll along Fisherman’s Wharf. Spend an afternoon at the beautiful Golden State Park, finishing off with a scenic walk atop the world famous Golden Gate Bridge.

Learn of the historic social activism that took place in the 1960s with a visit to the Berkeley Campus. Learn of the literary revolution that took place on the West Coast in the 1960s by taking a tour of the Beat Museum in San Francisco.

Continue your journey down the coast through Monterey, and into Los Angeles. Give back to the local community and offer your volunteer services at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. You can add these hours to the count towards your 40 hours of community service required for the OSSD!

Walk barefoot along the sandy stretch of Venice Beach, enjoy an evening of fun at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier, and soak up the sun at a resort in Palm Springs. Finally, end the trip off on a high note by hiking the Red Rock Canyons and taking in a world-class show in Las Vegas!

Spend your summer under the glorious sun of the Golden State.
