COURSE OVERVIEW
It was an experience I will never forget.
Visit stunning destinations across Western Canada while studying literature and social justice from an Indigenous perspective. We’ll participate in discussions with the Residential School History and Dialogue Centre in Vancouver and tour the Kamloops Residential School in Kamloops.
We’ll experience the beauty of Banff National Park before making our way to our final destination Calgary.
ACTIVITIES

MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY
Learn about world arts and cultures with a special emphasis on the First Nations peoples and other cultural communities of British Columbia.
KAMLOOPS ART GALLERY
Visit the largest art gallery in the Interior of British Columbia with a collection of over 3,000 works of art.
SEA TO SKY GONDOLA
Take in stunning views of Howe Sound before enjoying all the summit has to offer including hiking, rock climbing and crossing the Suspension Bridge.
WILDLIFE PARK
Home to nearly 200 animals and 65 different species that are native to British Columbia.
BANFF NATIONAL PARK
Visit Canada’s first National Park where Rocky Mountain peaks, turquoise glacial lakes, a picture-perfect mountain town, and abundant wildlife come together.

Online Access
Students receive access to the online learning platform and will begin working on their introductory assignments.
June 4
Orientation and First Class
Parents, students and teachers meet in the morning to review travel expectations and the itinerary. Teachers and students meet in the afternoon for their first class and to work on introductory assignments.
June 4 – July 3
Introductory Independent Learning Online
Students will work independently to complete and submit assignments. Teachers will be available to answer questions through the online platform.
July 4 – July 8
Pre-trip Online Classes (Synchronous and Asynchronous)
Teachers and students will interact online as students participate in direct teaching, group activities, discussions and presentations.

Each day is thoughtfully planned to provide an unforgettable adventure that will teach lessons about the course, individuals and the world around.

Students gather for breakfast and to
review the day’s itinerary.

Free time for lunch and shopping at Granville Island.
