Open to ALL Ontario high school students
Civics & Citizenship and Career Studies come alive as students travel to Ottawa, Montreal, and New York City! Students learn the role Canada plays in an increasingly interconnected global community and start building their own personal definition of “citizenship.” From Parliament to the United Nations, students see how their career choice can allow them to have a meaningful impact on the world.
Students will write campaign speeches, enact dramatizations about Canadian civics, explore the field of photojournalism, and get firsthand experience in financial literacy. Nights are filled with fun events that include a dance party in Montreal and a Broadway show in NYC!.
Here are some of the exciting experiences included in the program.
After learning about Canada’s political system, students get an official tour of the capital building.
Canadian history comes to life in this rustic abode, where students learn to “play the spoons” and dance the night away.
TOP OF THE ROCK
It’s straight to the top of the Rockefeller Center for an unbeatable view of Manhattan.
UNITED NATIONS TOUR
Students get an insider tour of the headquarters and learn about career paths at the UN
No trip to NYC is complete without a spectacular Broadway performance!.

Students receive access the online learning platform and will begin working on their pre-trip assignments.
August 4 – August 7, 2020
Students and teachers meet to go over course expectations, travel details, and important learning concepts.
Teachers will be available to answer any questions during designated hours while students complete pre-trip assignments.
August 17 & August 18, 2020
Post-Trip Online Class
Teachers are available to answer any questions during designated hours while students complete their summative assignments.
