Civics and Careers – Grade 10 (July – London 1): For-Credit Student Trips

Civics And Careers

July – London Region Round 1

COURSE OVERVIEW

This trip has brought me together with some of the best people I’ve ever met! We didn’t know each other in class, and now we have a squad. These new people are seriously amazing, and are friends for life!

Civics & Citizenship and Career Studies come alive as students travel to Ottawa, Montreal, and New York City! Students learn the role Canada plays in an increasingly interconnected global community and start building their own personal definition of “citizenship.” From Parliament to the United Nations, students see how their career choice can allow them to have a meaningful impact on the world.

Students will write campaign speeches, enact dramatizations about Canadian civics, explore the field of photojournalism, and get firsthand experience in financial literacy. Nights are filled with fun events that include a dance party in Montreal and a Broadway show in NYC!
