Art History In Europe – Grade 11/12 (March) 2024: For-Credit Student Trips

ART HISTORY IN EUROPE

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Louvre was amazing to see in person, I’m so happy it was a part of this trip

Our whirlwind tour begins in Rome with the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the massive Pantheon. At the Vatican Museum you can marvel at Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel and take a quiet reflection over the beautiful Pieta. In Paris we will visit the Musee d’Orsay, which houses pieces by Monet, Renoir, Degas, Gauguin, Seurat and van Gogh.

And, of course, we’ll make a visit to the Louvre to see the revolutionary brushwork of Leonardo Da Vinci himself in The Mona Lisa and The Madonna of the Rocks. Students become museum curators and art critics through engaging art history assignments inspired by these revolutionary artists.
