Environmental Studies in the DR – Grade 12 (March) 2024: For-Credit Student Trips

Environmental Studies in the Dominican Republic

COURSE OVERVIEW

We worked as a team to help clean up the beach and learned how our sustainability efforts affect the environment.

Head down to the warm island of the Dominican Republic and study environmental issues in a tropical paradise. Students will explore the terrain, from lush national parks to sandy beaches, while discussing the most pressing environmental issues.

Teachers team up with local experts to explain the many sustainability efforts of Dominican residents, such as the organic farming and farm-to-table production of Taino Farm. Our students will learn to be advocates for a greener world with a tree planting excursion, beach cleanup, and summative research project.
