Civics and Careers
Civics & Citizenship and Career Studies come alive as students travel to Ottawa, Montreal, and New York City! Students learn the role Canada plays in an increasingly interconnected global community and start building their own personal definition of “citizenship.” From Parliament to the United Nations, students see how their career choice can allow them to have a meaningful impact on the world.
Students will write campaign speeches, enact dramatizations about Canadian civics, explore the field of photojournalism, and get firsthand experience in financial literacy. Nights are filled with fun events that include a dance party in Montreal and a Broadway show in NYC!
Here are some of the exciting experiences included in the program.
Visiting Old Montreal means stepping back in time as students explore a charming historic district filled with cobblestone streets, European architecture, and a vibrant cultural atmosphere.
Students visiting the War Museum will gain a profound understanding of Canada’s military history through immersive exhibits and artifacts.
TOP OF THE ROCK
It’s straight to the top of the Rockefeller Center for an unbeatable view of Manhattan.
Students get an insider tour of the headquarters and learn about career paths at the UN.
No trip to NYC is complete without a spectacular Broadway performance!
