COURSE OVERVIEW


Let your passion for skiing and sport come to life on your weeklong leadership journey to the West Coast. If you’re interested in sports instruction, teaching physical education, or being a leader in your extracurricular pursuits, this course will help you hone the necessary skills for success!
Gain professional assistance from experienced ski and snowboard instructors. Let your passion for adventure come to life with views unmatched anywhere else in the country. After intense days on the slopes, settle in each evening for educational classes to help you identify your leadership strengths, build your mentorship skills, and step into a new role in your athletic pursuits.

FIVE DAY MOUNTAIN PASS
Grab your skis or your snowboard and explore beautiful Red Mountain.

PERSONAL INSTRUCTION
Take your skills to the next level with a lesson from a professional Red Mountain instructor.

EVENT PLANNING WORKSHOP
Learn about event planning from Red Mountain Resort’s experienced event coordinators.

STUDENT LED ACTIVITIES
Practice your leadership skills by planning a fun “Apres Ski” social event.

PEER MENTORSHIP
Hone your training skills with a valuable peer mentorship assignment.

EduTravel is not accepting deposits during the pre-registration period. Until there is more clarity around the safety of student group travel and the Government of Canada removes its “avoid non-essential travel” advisory.

Ski/Snowboard Equipment Options
Students may bring their own equipment from home or rent equipment at the resort.
Cost of rental: TBD.
Cost of oversize baggage fee: $100.00.

MANDATORY DATES

February 16
Online Access
Students receive access to the online learning platform and will begin working on their introductory assignments.

February 19 – February 26
Introductory Independent Learning Online
Students will work independently to complete and submit assignments. Teachers will be available to answer questions through the online platform.

February 26
Orientation and First Class
Parents, students and teachers meet in the morning to review travel expectations and the itinerary. Teachers and students meet in the afternoon for their first class and to work on introductory assignments.

March 5
Pre-trip Online Classes
Teachers and students will interact online as students participate in direct teaching, group activities, discussions and presentations.

April 2
Post-Trip Online Dates
Teachers are available to answer any questions during designated hours while students complete their summative assignments.
