• Spring Training in Florida

      Open to ALL Ontario High School Students!

      Take your athletic training to the next level as you head down to the IMG Academy this March Break. Spend a week at this world-class facility, equipped with 20+ multi-sport fields, 50+ tennis courts, a 5,000-seat state-of-the-art stadium, an 18-hole golf course, and two 10,000+ square foot weight rooms. Train for 2 hours each day in the sport of your choice: Rugby, Baseball, Football, Soccer, Golf or Tennis. Enhance your training with 2 IMG Academy Athlete Development Programs focusing on Weight Room Training and Personal Nutrition. Spend an hour each day under the guidance of a qualified weight room instructor in the IMG Weight Room. Take some time to relax as you head to Dunedin to watch a Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training Game. Enjoy an afternoon at the world famous Sarasota Beach. Be sure to keep an eye open for professional athletes training on site, as many MLB, NFL & MLS Stars train at the IMG Academy in their off-season.

        Prerequisite: Any health and physical education course

      Instructional Timelines

      Online Orientation:  Saturday, February 12, 2018

      Students must login to the online platform by Monday, February 12, to begin their introductory assignments.  Their teacher will contact them with the information to access the online course on February 10.

      Mandatory Face-to-Face Orientation: Saturday, February 24 (parents and students are to attend). Students will participate in an independent online study component until the pre-trip classes begin.
      Pre-Trip Online Assignment Due Dates –  Saturday, March 3 and Saturday, March 10
      Students will be required to participate in online learning and submit online assignments on Saturday, March 3, and Saturday, March 10. Assessment will be ongoing throughout the pre-trip online assignments. 

      Travel:  Sunday, March 11 to Sunday, March 18

      Students will be completing assessments throughout the travel portion.

      Post-trip class:  Saturday, April 7 (online)

      Students will complete all daily assessments and submit their summative assignments by Saturday, April 7

      $3,500 All Inclusive

      * A $1,500 deposit is needed to secure your spot at the time of registration

      Athlete deluxe medical and cancellation insurance (mandatory) add $159

      Please note: It is EduTravel and school board policy that all students travelling on extended trips have both cancellation and medical insurance in place. A specialized student insurance protection plan will be automatically added to the cost of the program fee upon registration. Please know there is an option to opt out of the insurance policy by filling and returning in the “Insurance Opt-Out Form” along with proof of valid insurance coverage from another source. 

      Visa Students may be required to pay an additional fee. Please contact the EduTravel office.
