Today was a very educational and exciting day! We started off the trip with driving to Salinas California where we visited and got a tour of the National Steinbeck Museum, which taught us a lot about John Steinbeck, the author of our novel the Grapes of Wrath.
After a nice lunch downtown Salinas, we went back to the museum to write a unit test about Steinbeck using one of the two lenses; psychoanalysis or new historicism.
After we finished up at the museum, we hopped back on the bus to ride to the Bayonet Black golf course in Monterey Bay, where we did putting and driving. It was a new experience for a lot of us. We also did a super fun putting competition, and the winners received a prize!
When we got back to the hotel, we had time to cozy up in our PJs and grab some snacks because our guide Kael organized a pizza and movie night for us! We watched The Rock which was especially exciting because it was set in Alcatraz, a place that we visited a few days ago!
Overall it was another exciting day well spent in beautiful California!
