A Day in the Life...

    Pre-Trip, students will...
  • meet pre-trip at a central school location with their teacher/facilitator to discuss their course outline, investigate places and experiences of interest that will enhance their course, and prepare for the journey ahead.
  • have an opportunity to discover their learning styles through a variety of activities. These results will help them to plan activities and assessments that will allow them to be successful
  • prepare a calendar which will detail important dates for activities as well as deadlines for completion of their work. Deadlines will be negotiated and designed for individual needs.

     During the Trip, students will...
  • have researched their destinations and will have mapped out the activities and attractions that they will attend to support their learning.
  • work on their laptops (if available) during travel time or during designated "study hall" times at the hotel or residence.
  • engage in sightseeing,  workshops, and other community-building activities.
  •  meet their teacher for assessment conferences throughout the day.
  • gain volunteer hours by intimately interacting with local communities and having a lasting social impact (optional activity to be discussed with your teacher).

    Post Trip, student will...
  • meet again at a location to be determined for four to five days to complete their summative evaluations. These may be in the form of presentations, tests, exams, etc. which have previously been established in the course outline.
  • once the course is complete, final reports will processed by the partner School Board and mailed home.
  • School Boards will update the transcripts for students who are registered in day school in the School Board offering the travel for credit programs
